Even though Meredith Kline invented new words at times, it is important to pause from time to time and take note of the fact that he was not the first one to say certain things. One seventeenth-century pastor-theologian who understood the Mosaic covenant very similarly to Meredith Kline was the English puritan Samuel Petto. Pastor Mike Brown of Christ United Reformed Church in Santee, CA was kind enough to come on the show and talk to Chris and Lee about the book that he has written about Petto, Petto’s view of the Mosaic covenant, and Petto’s pastoral use of his covenant theology for the comfort and assurance of believers. It was a privilege to talk to him, and we’re sure you’ll agree that it is a privilege to listen to him.

I have been following up the podcast since pastor Forkner introduced to me. I listened to each talk at least twice. fascinating! Actually I was wondering if there are any puritans who have taught/preached on the doctrine of republication, today’s interview answered my question.
